When Paul applied to study law at university he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. He admits now to copying exactly his best school friend's UCCA application form. His excuse for doing so is that at 17 he was  focused exclusively on succeeding in professional football.  While that ambition was not fulfilled as Paul hoped he did  nevertheless develop  a sense of the need to remedy injustice. An important contribution to achieving social justice is  through developing legal capacity to support local communities who are denied access to legal services.

Many years ago Paul met the redoubtable Fiona Darroch who founded Protimos . Fiona is a former professional opera singer and now a leading environmental and  human rights barrister. Paul with  many members of the legal profession support Protimos. The work it does in Africa is of fundamental importance and is at the leading edge of the development of international law and practice.

We urge you to consider supporting Protimos. 

If we can raise enough money for Protimos Fiona may sing at the wedding. She is a truly amazing singer and has filled the Albert Hall singing traditional Gaelic songs.
