To live below the line or not live below the line?
That is the question and one which I am fortunate enough to choose the answer to unlike the 1.4 BILLION people who live in extreme poverty every single day.
Live Below the Line is an initiative created by Global Poverty Project. This organisation educates and campaigns to engage people to join the movement to end extreme poverty.
For five days (7 – 11 May) I am going to get a glimpse into what it's like to "live below the line", feeding myself on £1 a day.
Some people have said it will be possible, others not quite convinced and personally with the lack of daily fresh fruit and vegetables, tea and coffee and even tasty seasoning to cheer up what will be some exceedingly bland dishes, I know it will be a challenge!
I am taking part in this challenge to raise awareness for this fantastic campaign and funds for The Batemans Trust but also to experience what it’s like not to have the choice with something so habitual as eating.
I will be raising money for 'The Batemans Trust', a small independent charity that supports Anglo-Indian children and young people in Chennai, South India. Please find more information and pictures from my time teaching in Chennai on my challenge blog and how your donations may be spent.

Thank you very much in advance for your kind donation.
