On September 2nd 2016 i will start the Ring O' Fire, coastal ultra marathon around the island of Anglesey, which will see me spend up to 44.5 hours running 135 miles. This is a MASSIVE challenge for me and will see me well and truly out of my comfort zone as the furthest distance i have ever ran is a marathon. This race will challenge not only my body but also my mental state in a huge way.

I have chosen this race to try to raise as much money as possible in aid of St Kentigern Hospice in St Asaph, where my mum spent a lot of time over the course of her 5 year battle with Breast Cancer, and also where she chose to spend her final days and passed away there on August 29th 2010 at the age of 51. The timing of this race coincides with the anniversary of when my mum passed away, and will mark her 6th anniversary this year.
If i am able to raise 1000 pounds in aid of St Kentigern Hospice, i will be very happy and the thought of what i have to do, will seem a little less crazy!!!
I have 9 months to train, and lots of tough races before this one as training races and i am prepared to put in the blood, sweat and tears, so if you feel that you can donate to my cause, please do so here and i will be very grateful as i know all the patients and their families that are also supported by St Kentigern nurses, support staff, doctors will be too.
My mum was so incredibly lucky to have had the chance to be supported both medically, physically and mentally by the hospice and my sister and i were too. The support they provide for people with life limiting and terminal illness is second to none and totally amazing. Please help me help them to be able to continue their amazing work for the patients that so desperately need them.
Thank you in advance,
Vicci.
