Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving Page! I’m trekking to Everest Base Camp in April 2016 to support the amazing work that Chernobyl Children's Lifeline do. It would be great if you could donate and share my Page so I can raise as much as possible to help them care for children affected by Chernobyl to give affected children a fresh start. Thank you.
In April 1986 a Nucleur Reactor exploded at the Chernobyl Power Plant. People were not told about the dangers of radiation, some of which will be there for many hundreds of years. They developed thyroid gland cancers, leukaemia, brain tumours, kidney, liver and heart problems.
The governments of Belarus and Ukraine established that all affected children should leave the contaminated regions for at least one monrth abroad every year to receive uncontaminated food, breathe fresh air and thus boost their immune system.
I want to take this opportunity to raise as much as I can to give these children a better chance in life.
In August 2015 a group of children came to stay with host families in Suffolk. The children arrived with nothing more than the clothes they were dressed in. Along with the help of F+F we donated clothes to them, which they were able to wear and take home with them. With your help I want to continue to help them and make a difference.
Together we can help:
To bring child victims of the Chernobyl disaster to the UK for recuperative breaks of four weeks.
To provide on-going supplies of multi-vitamins and basic healthcare products to the children on their return.
To help children too sick to travel by providing chemotherapy medicines to Children’s Cancer Hospitals in Minsk, Gomel and other regions.
Support with medicines and equipment: No. l Baby Home in Minsk, and many other orphanages.
