Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who don't know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of this year. Following on from several surgeries, I have now received 4 cycles of chemotherapy (only 4 more to go followed by radiotherapy!).
I have been lucky enough to keep my hair through treatment, using cold-capping (those of you who know me know I have a serious head of hair - see my photo!), but have now decided to go for a fresh start (and a bald head) on my 38th birthday for several reasons (not least that I feel extremely privileged to still be here on this birthday and hopefully for many more to come):
1. to raise awareness of breast cancer in young women - make sure you regularly check yourselves ladies!!
2. to raise awareness and money for the Olive Tree Cancer Centre in Crawley - they are an independent charity that provide amazing services and support to cancer patients and their relatives, almost all free of charge. They have been a lifeline to me over the past few months, and to many of the other people I've been lucky enough to meet there, and they run entirely on donations.
3. I want to show that the hardest situations in life can be transformed into something uplifting when you choose to use them to benefit others in your community.
