Story
Hey everyone and welcome to my JustGiving page. I'm sure most of you that know me, have heard that I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in April 2015, I have since had MRI's that have shown further lesions on my brain and spine but I am fighting the fight and determined to win with all of your help and support, not only in this but also in everything I look to do in the future.
I do want to say before I speak about the ins and out of the trek, I will be personally putting forward the price of the trek, all money raised will be for the MS Society of Ireland.
As you can see from the title, I am doing a trek to the base camp of Mount Everest in September. While "Base Camp" might sound easy, I assure you it is not, Base Camp sits proudly at 5364m/17,598ft. To put that into perspective, Carrauntoohil sits at 1,038m/3,406 ft.
I am hugely excited by this for many reasons, one of the main reasons is to hopefully raise as much money as possible to help fund the research of Multiple Sclerosis in Ireland. I know I definitely want to help find a cure, but unfortunately that is quite a bit down the road. But it also helps with keeping the health care centres open and also all the benefits that the MS Society give to the people who have multiple sclerosis.
Another reason for this trek is because I want to show people that suffer with MS or many other diseases, that they can still do these types of things, no matter how big or small.
With your generosity, this can be a real success. I will be doing everything in my power to make it a success also. I have a lot of training ahead of me and that hard work will ensure I make it to Base Camp.
