Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A few years back I tore my left knee cruciate ligament, then I tore my right knee cartilage. I I cycled a lot and got back to fitness, so a friend ask me to run with him in the London Marathon because another good friend set up a charity to help others in need.
Yes I have only 12 weeks to train, yes I'm not getting any younger.
BUT yes its worth it. Please give as much as you can.
I and those in need are grateful for whatever amount you can afford to give no matter how little or big!
Thank you.
Carers Worldwide are currently working in India and Nepal to provide support for:
CARERS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY
These carers are an invisible force, who care day in, day out with no
payment and little chance of respite. They are isolated and worry for the
future of the one they love. Our creative solutions can help them have a life
alongside their caring responsibilities. Help us to help them overcome their
invisibility.
CARERS OF PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS
These carers are marginalised and vulnerable, experiencing ill health,
social stigma and reduced ability to earn an income. You can help their
reintegration into society through carers groups, medical and counselling
support and opportunities to take up small scale income generation activities.
CHILD CARERS
Child carers face the loss of their childhood and their education. They
withdraw from society. Expectations on them are so great they may become unwell
themselves. Most of them have nobody to turn to. Help us to help them reclaim
their childhood and their future.
LIVELIHOODS PROJECTS
Through creative solutions, many carers can combine working with caring.
Help us set carers up in home based income generating activities that will pull
their families out of poverty.
ADVOCACY
The lives of carers will only improve once the huge contribution they
make to society is recognised – by communities and by governments. Help us
bring carers together to find their collective voice and build a carers’
movement in developing countries.
RESPITE CARE/ SHORT BREAKS
Most carers have no
respite and are often the only person carrying the load of caring for their
loved one. The burden placed on them is immense and has a direct impact on
their physical, mental and emotional health. Help a carer have a much needed
break.
