Story

When I sustained a life changing spinal injury in 1989 I never thought I'd be up to taking part in any physical sports again due to not being able to use my right arm and legs. I found scuba diving in 2008 and its transformed my outlook on life. The freedom it gives me  underwater lets me forget the restricted life I have on land as a full time wheelchair user.

After completing the mile (64 lengths) in the pool I feel knackered, but also fulfilled, in that the achievement can do something to help Warrington Disability Partnership to help disabled people to live more independent and fulfilling lives.

I'm thrilled to be joined again by the inspirational Tom Coleridge, who was shot and injured in Afghanistan when he was just 18. Now a fellow full time wheelchair user, we are honoured to lead Team WDP for this years Going the Extra Mile Scuba Challenge, alongside our friends and dive buddies Dave Williams and John Munslow.

We are truly thankful for the kind support once again offered by members of Cheshire Scuba Academy.

You can help us to help Warrington Disability Partnership by donating or joining us. If you are a qualified diver, please join in for the mile or unqualified, why not do a supervised try dive.

Call WDP for the application forms or donate now.

Thank you. Dave
