We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to stop women dying from breast cancer.

Story

Rachel Stevens died on 7 January 2015 after a two year battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She was 36 years old.

Rachel devoted much of her life to helping others both in the UK and overseas. As a communications professional at Christian Aid she used her talents to give those in need a voice. She captured the stories of people’s suffering and made sure they were heard.

Rachel was epically popular. She had a large number of deep friendships and her friends and family were always at the centre of her life. She is sorely missed by a great number of people.

This walk is to remember her life with great gratitude and to raise an ambitious sum of money to enable real progress to be made so that other young women are spared the pain and premature death which she suffered.

All the money raised will support ongoing research at King's College London research unit into the cause, detection and treatment of Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

This walk follows the course of Rachel’s life in reverse. It begins in the historic seaside town of Southwold which Rachel had known and loved since early childhood and where her ashes are scattered on the beach. We will walk through much of Suffolk and Essex finishing in East Ham in East London where Rachel was born.  We shall be walking approximately 145 miles averaging 12/13 miles per day. Further details of the walk can be found at rememberingrachel.org.

Those who knew Rachel were aware that she was in many ways exceptional, with a gift for friendship and a taste for life which is remembered and celebrated by all who knew her. Please help us to ensure that her courage will not be forgotten by supporting this walk as generously as you can. And if you can be part of some of it do join us.
