Nowhere to Hide for the Children of Gaza and Syria

In any humanitarian disaster it is those who are most vulnerable who suffer, and the conflict in the Middle East isn’t any different. Gaza’s health sector is still suffering from shortages of equipment and medical supplies from the on-going blockade. Poor housing conditions, overcrowded schools and a heavily polluted environment is having a grave impact on children’s mental and physical health. Around 10% of children under five in the Gaza Strip have had their growth stunted due to prolonged exposure to malnutrition.

Before Gaza took over the headlines, it was the children of Syria who pricked the world's conscience. In a punishing war now in its fourth year, even the youngest of Syrians are in the snipers' sights. Millions of children live with hunger and fear, many suffering in areas under siege.

We Can Help

“There is no believer who consoles his brother at the time of a calamity but that Allah the exalted will clothe him on the day of resurrection.” [Ibn Majah]

Children of Jannah and War Torn Cities Campaign

Children of Jannah has chosen to help fill the gap in the provision of emotional support to parents and families in war torn areas. Children of Jannah has been supporting bereaved parents since 2011. Hafizah Ismail, our founder, wrote a grief relief book, Sorrow to Serenity that has been translated into the Arabic language and has provided much comfort for grieving parents. In an effort to support more bereaved parents in Gaza and Syria we have already sent books to Gaza with the aid of a convoy.

Sorrow to Serenity in Arabic

For just £5 Sorrow to Serenity provides essential emotional support to the families who have lost a child in the conflict.

Children of Jannah Toy Drive

This Eid why not bring a smile to a child’s face in Gaza or Syria?

We aim to deliver toys to Children in Gaza and Syria as an Eid present from you. Everything has been taken away from these children, their childhood snatched from them, their lives uprooted. But YOU could bring a sense of normality back into their lives. For the small price of £6 we aim to bring a smile to their faces.

This includes: Bubbles, Yo-yo, bouncy balls, balloons, an activity pack and much more.

Support a Family

Why not support a family by sponsoring a family pack for £10. This includes the Arabic publication of Sorrow to Serenity, which provides psychological support for those parents whose child has died.

Please specify where you would like the donation to go by reference to either Toy Drive, Book, or Family.
