Story

Hi!  I'm Kate Ward of Ward Walks London.  Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In September 2006 my dad died of malignant mesothelioma, a form of cancer which is usually caused by exposure to asbestos.

On Sunday the 1st of May 2011, what would have been my dad's 78th birthday, I started walking the London Capital Ring  aiming to complete it within 24 hours.  I crossed the finish line in Woolwich after 27 hours 11 minutes of walking.  I did this to raise money for the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund.

I blogged my year of training at http://wardwalkslondon.blogspot.com/ where there are also updates from the walk itself.  Come and say hello!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails - and once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the June Hancock Fund.  They'll also make sure that Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your support.
