Story
The Challenge:
On the 28th July 2016 5 Riders and 2 Support Personnel will come together on one Mission – Poole to Land’s End and Back again in 3 days!
We will mainly follow the National Cycle Network Sustrans Route #2 - Please see the route map in our gallery. We will be starting off from Wartsila Water Systems Office, Fleets Corner at 7am on Thursday 28th July 2016 and finishing at the Hamworthy Club on Saturday 30th July 2016.
The route will be approximately 450 miles, so the riders will be aiming to cover 150 miles per day. The riders are aiming to ride at 15mph/24kph meaning that they will be in the saddle for nearly 10 hours per day!
For the duration of the event there will be a support vehicle to help the riders along the way. The support vehicle will be carrying food, water, spares, tools etc and first aid supplies. It will also act as a fallback to cover any emergencies.
The Team:
We are fortunate enough to have a mix from throughout the Wartsila Poole site volunteer to take part in this challenge!
