Watoto is an Holistic care programme that was initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned children and vulnerable women in Uganda, whose lives have been ravaged by war and disease.

In July 2011, after attending a concert put on by the Watoto Children’s choir, we were greatly touched by the testimonies of the children and the work of the orphanage. Whilst speaking with their UK representatives, they mentioned they required a nursery within the Orphanage to help with the daily running of the Orphanage.

So we have now decided to venture to Uganda and visit the Watoto Orphanage where we can build this nursery and contribute in our own little way to the work of Watoto.

The principal aim of the project is to undertake the construction of the nursery, whereby our main activities will include landscaping, path laying, building steps, and preparing bricks.

To fund the cost of the construction project, the Watoto team are organising a series of exciting fundraising events to raise awareness and raise the necessary funds to finance the build. They include a Grand Black Tie Ball, a football tournament and our very own Apprentice-style competition.
