Story
CCHF All About Kids exists to give disadvantaged children a range of residential activity and respite breaks. We improve the quality of children's lives and help them to recognise their potential in a safe and happy environment.
Over the summer we run a residential camp for the kids to come and stay in one of the boarding houses (Anglesey this year). We take the kids to the beach, swimming, play football and other outdoors games with them, as well as teaching them arts and crafts and baking.
A message from last years volunteers:
There are so many words we could use when it comes to describing our experience volunteering on a CCHF summer camp. But if we are honest; we loved every single minute of it. Even the early wake ups and various toilet trips we had to supervise, it was some of the most fun we've all had. Meeting the kids was heartwarming and inspiring, they were all so sweet and genuinely wanted to have a go at anything and everything (which made our lives somewhat easier). Joining in with the various activities, chatting with the kids, watching them just have fun was so humbling (even if we did have to tell them countless times that they didn't need to call us Sir/Miss). We all loved every minute of it and saying goodbye to the kids at the end was hard; we all still miss them to this day. The camp not only gave the kids great memories but also gave us some very amusing ones too. All the other volunteers and leaders were so welcoming and quickly taught us the ropes of how to cope with twenty-eight 9-11 year olds (some would say challenging, we would say character building). But most of all it gave us a chance to give back to everyone. We all strongly recommend doing this, it is a once in a lifetime experience (possibly more if you choose to volunteer again) and well worth the investment of time. Great kids. Great people. Amazing memories.
