Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please note that donations made through this page are being used solely to support Team Charlie's Project India.
Holly and I are attempting to complete our first (and possibly last!) Marathon on Sunday 18th September. It's the Kent Coyote Marathon which takes place at the Gravesend Cyclopark. We will be running 26.2 miles, 42.195km, which equates to 20 LAPS of the course!!
We are doing this all for Team Charlie. The charity was set up in memory of Charlie Booth. Charlie was a sporty, happy, cheeky 16 year old lad who I taught at school. Holly misses Charlie desperately from their school days, which is why we have decided to take on this marathon in his memory.
Team Charlie was set up 3 years ago by a group Charlie's school friends, spearheaded by his best friend Zak Warwood. They were determined to raise as much money as possible, with the idea of building a Sports Centre in impoverished Chennai, India. They wanted to show appreciation of Charlie’s life by making a difference to people on the other side of the world. In July this year, Charlie's sister Harriet officially opened The Charlie Booth Sports Centre. However, funds are still needed to pay for equipment and to rebuild the girls hostel next to the centre.
As many already know, Team Charlie is a recognised charity within
Rochester Cathedral. It is important that donators
understand that Team Charlie's bank accounts are collected into a
separate account under the name of Rochester Cathedral in order to claim gift aid. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page, and please donate towards Team Charlie, he's changing lives all around the world!
