Story
Chris has been receiving daily treatment at St Luke's Cancer Centre, at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, a "Centre of Excellence" in the treatment and diagnosis of prostate cancer. The Prostate Project, a charity based in Guildford, (i)funds facilities and specialist nurses for the detection and treatment of prostate cancer, and (ii)has funded the creation of an oncology research team at the University of Surrey. This research is already producing results of international importance, but it requires long term investment. The Prostate Project is seeking to raise £2.25m towards a new NHS urological centre for the Royal Surrey and also needs funds to maintain its current support levels. It is run largely by volunteers (less than 4% of a donation goes to administrative costs) and, in view of the research programme which it supports, there are potential benefits even for those not living in Surrey.
