Story
My beautiful 3 year old granddaughter Sophie Jones was born with a rare congenital heart disorder called "Congenitally Corrected Transposition of The Greater Arteries" (CCTGA for short). This means that her pulmonary artery and aorta are the wrong way round, but this has been 'corrected' by the fact that the ventricles are also switched round. When Sophie was just 2 years old she had heart surgery to have a pacemaker fitted. She will also have to have another major operation on her heart to correct the CCTGA before she is 5 years old.
Sophie attends pre-school, never stops talking and runs everywhere. She is a joy to be with and constantly makes us laugh. She worships her big sister Mia and is always smiling. Sophie is a special little girl who never ceases to amaze us with what she has already over come with such a serious condition.
I am going to cycle 260 miles off-road on a mountain bike from my home in Hythe to Buckley in North Wales. Dave Wyatt is going to be my support team and hopefully won't knock me off.
