Story
As many of you who know me will have heard, last sunday my uncle Matthew passed away. At just 45 years old Matt had a heart attack and despite the best efforts of paramedics, nurses and doctors he could not be saved.
Matt was a healthy man with no previous history of heart problems. He was in the gym when he had the heart attack and was planning on visiting salisbury races or taking his wife Mel out for lunch afterwards. The reason I am writing this is because we just do not know what is round the corner. It is easy enough to read something like this and think.. "how tragic but it would never happen to me, or anyone in my family." The truth is you just do not know.
As part of what I want to do in memory of Matt, is to run the course at Fontwell, with the money that I raise from doing this I am hoping to buy a defibrillator for Fontwell Racecourse and also the gym in which Matt had his heart attack... Who knows I may even jump a fence or two!
Im sure you can all agree it is a very worthy cause and one that could at any moment help save the life of a loved one or even ourselves.
Any donations are of course hugely appreciated
I will be running before racing on the 26th May and would love to have as many donations as possible by then!
