Story
It all started so innocently - I (Lucy) agreed to take the final place on the West Kent Mind swim team for the London Serpentine 1 Mile Swim (Sept) to help raise money for the local Mind team that I work for as a voluntary counsellor.
It then grew a little more with Rob taking a place on their team for the London Ride 100 (July).
A random idea that we were only a run away from having a triathlon team then grew further when our kids G (6yrs) and T (3yrs) said they'd take on the 'run' leg by doing a Junior Park Run (date tbc).
And so, Team Westwood Triathlon was born.....
Having worked at West Kent Mind as a counsellor for over a year, I have seen, first hand, the great work they do to help and support their service users - offering low cost counselling, housing support, groups of all sorts.... They help in so many ways and are an invaluable service to the community.
As someone who has suffered herself with mental health issues, Lucy and the family know only too well how important good support is in such times.
Please help us to support WK Mind's fabulous work by giving a little (or a lot - we're not picky!) to our family Triathlon Team's efforts!
