Story

Hello everyone!

This October I'm leaving my job in the Royal Free and heading to Malawi to volunteer in the Billy Riordan Memorial Clinic for 6 months. I'm determined to bring over some much needed funds with me and would greatly appreciate your support!

About the Clinic

The Billy Riordan Memorial Clinic was set up in 2004, by an Irish woman, Mags Riordan, in memory of her son Billy, who tragically drowned in Lake Malawi in 1999.
The center provides the only medical care to an area in which 15,000 people live. Life expectancy in the area is only 50, infant mortality is high and about 12% of the population have HIV/AIDS.

The center runs on donations alone with no state funding. That is why it is so important that we raise as much money as possible!

The Marathon

Anyone who knows me would agree that the idea of me ever running a marathon is pretty hilarious! As this is such a fantastic cause however, I decided a few months ago that it would be well worth all the training. I will be attempting the Dingle marathon on 3rd of September, probably not the best choice for my first as its a pretty hilly one!

Donation

I will be covering all personal costs myself (flights, vaccinations etc.). That means every pound/euro raised will go directly to the clinic.

THANK YOU!!!
