Story

Henry Grain will be running the Barr Ellison Wimpole 10km run – 22nd May 2016

Henry is an ex-marine, fitness coach and Joint Manager for the Spartans team.

If Henry beats a time of 52 minutes dead, his slightly less than lean Joint Manager Richard Rowell will run the next 10k in October (all 17st 4lbs of him)

Richard has not walked 10k during the course of a season for many years and is confident that Henry cannot possibly run the first 10k inside the time (gulp)...

Support Henry in his admirable cause of raising money to support local youth football and also to encourage him to have Richard regret coming up with the idea!

Monies raised will help fund the new team which Henry and Richard have created using their own funds and funds from sponsors. It is an ambition of the Managers to take the team to the London Soccerdome or the FA's St Georges Park and the money will go a long way to helping with that.

So whilst we are not asking you to support the needy or starving (right now), we are hoping to reward 16 boys who don't hang around the streets causing trouble, but who are disciplined, respectful and love sport..

Both Henry and Richard would very much appreciate your help and support in return.

The story will continue if Henry beats the time of 52 minutes dead.... watch this space
