Story

Hi guys

On the 10th September I'll be starting a 6 day trek to attempt to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro. Just to remind you... it's a volcanic fecking mountain and the highest in Africa. Here's a few examples of things that can go wrong

  1. I could get eaten by a giraffe before I start the trek
  2. I could fail to tie my shoelaces properly (standard occurrence in real life) and trip over my own feet and fall off the edge of the mountain
    3. I could confuse the Swahili words for water (" kunywa") and coffee "kahwa" to disastrous effect... (!)
  3. Most likely though - Ethiopian Airlines will lose my luggage and I'll have to do the whole trek in my jeans and ballet pumps. With no head torch. And no toilet paper.

Anyway, I'm trying to raise some money for the North West branch of Headway. Headway is a charity that helps people with head injuries. They do really good work like providing grants for people with financial problems after an accident, they help and support families of those who have been affected, they run a UK helpline providing specialist advice and they run training courses for survivors of head injuries and their carers, amongst many other things. Find out more here - https://www.headway.org.uk/home.aspx

I'd be really happy if you could sponsor me any money you can spare. I think it's a great cause and they could do with our help.

P.s. If you donate money I'll let you place a bet on how you think I'll die / get seriously injured. If you're right, then I'll write you into my will. We can figure out the T&C's later...

Thank you!

Yagie x
