The services that we do provide are a confidential listening service, which is open every night of term, now including the Easter Holidays, from 8pm to 8am. Students can come to the flat and talk to two volunteers about their problems, whatever size they may be, and able to talk in a safe and undisturbed environment, along with free coffee, tea, biscuits, and sexual health supplies. Other than visiting the volunteers in the flat, students may also call and email with whatever they want to talk about. Even if students don't have a problem and just want to chat with someone, that is an important part of what we offer.
The work that Nightline does for the students at both Universities not only costs time, but also money. We must buy supplies for the flat, equipment for volunteers to run the service, and equipment to train new volunteers. This, along with the reduced financial help that we now receive from YUSU, all amounts to fundraising being a vital part of the organisation. Without it we would not be able to continue doing the work that we do. If you would like to know more about the organisation, feel free to ask and visit our social media pages, or if you already know about what we do and respect our efforts then please donate and help us to continue the already 40 years of support that we have provided for students.
