Fundraising for Girlguiding LaSER
Story
As some of you are aware each week I volunteer as a Guide (10-14 year old) and Rainbow (5-7 year old) leader for weekly meetings, taking them on adventures and holidays to enable them to develop to their full potential and to make a difference in the World. I am very proud to be part of Girlguiding UK as it is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the UK.
I have been selected to lead a Girlguiding LaSER trip to South Korea in July/August 2016. Myself and 3 other leaders will take a group of 14 members (aged 14-17) for a 3 week trip where we will work on an urban regeneration project in Busan, hopefully meet some Korean Girl Scouts, and experience Korean culture. Most of the girls have not traveled long-haul before, so it is an amazing privilege to be able to offer this to them.
This trip is likely to cost around £3000, so I have a lot of fundraising to do in the next 5 months (as I have taken over from a Leader who had to drop out) so time is short. I plan on applying for grants and running events locally. I really appreciate any small donations from friends and family - don't forget to Gift Aid your donations if you are a UK tax payer!
