Story
We would be delighted if you would make a donation to the WWT Swan appeal in honour of our wedding.
Every year thousands of mute and Bewick’s swans arrive at Wetland Centres across Britain at the end of the annual migration from Arctic Russia. Many of these are exhausted or in ill health, and about 25% of these birds are carrying lead shot as a result of hunters trying to illegally shoot them on their journey. The WWT are campaigning hard to apply international pressure to stop illegal hunting, while also caring for the swans when they arrive at their centres.
£25 feeds 250 exhausted swans for a week
£50 buys a complete health check from the WWT specialist swan teams
£100 provides diagnostic X-rays for 10 Bewick’s swans
Also please Gift Aid your donation if you are a UK tax-payer.
You can leave us a wedding message on the site, or donate anonymously if you prefer.
Why swans, you may ask? Well, everyone knows that they mate for life ... !
