Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My son Dave - a GP - and his family live and work in North Africa on the edge of the Sahara Desert.  There he is pioneering the  development of palliative care through teaching, training, practical care and advocacy, alongside other local health and care organisations. This country offers very little access to very little suitable resources for this sort of care. His small, self-supporting organisation called Cairdeas Sahara is in partnership with Cairdeas IPCT.  I want us to assist the  growth of Cairdeas Sahara by this solo 212 miles walk from Portpatrick, near Stranraer on the west coast to Cocksburnpath, near Berwick.  It will be completed in 2 sessions in June 2015.  I plan to have some pictures to show to supporters when Dave returns to hold a public meeting at Hebron Church, 98 Botchergate, Carlisle CA1 1SN on July 1st at 7.30pm.  You will be very welcome to attend and add your kind support. Thank you. Alan Fearon
