Story
Dharma Action Network for Climate Engagement (DANCE)
is pleased to be hosting this year's All Night Vigil. On Saturday 10th September 2016 we will be gathering together at Gaia House and around the country for a special night of practice, dharma reflections and dedication of blessings to help raise money for refugees in need through the Mandala Trust.
Last year, the majority of asylum seekers fleeing to Europe were single men. In recent months this balance has shifted, with women and children (including unaccompanied minors) now accounting for roughly 57% of asylum seekers, adding to the highest level of refugee children since World War II. This comes at the worst possible time, just as European nations are barring their doors and up to 50,000 refugees are trapped in near-bankrupt Greece, facing deportation.
In response, the Mandala Trust are supporting the wonderful work of Lighthouse Relief in refugee camps in Greece, where teams of volunteers work with the refugees to provide a safe, loving and nourishing environment for the children. By donating through our appeal, you will be helping these children not just to survive but to lead happier and healthier lives.
Would you, your local Sangha or Sitting Group like to take part? It would be wonderful to join forces and support each other, knowing that across the UK we are sitting together in compassionate care and action. You can find out more and register by visiting www.mandalatrust.org/allnightvigil
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and for anything your are able to offer.
