And they are off!!! The Endurance Challenge ended last night with 'Just a drop in ocean' duo Mark Tidmarsh and Rory Smith coming first with an amazing time of 3hrs 38mins! Today will see the students battle it out with the 100km House Challenges. Thank you all for you magnificent support!!
The 2014 Ampleforth Rowathon will take place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th March and is open to everyone - members of the public, students, teachers, monks and the local community. The event has been generously sponsored by Visqueen and Concept 2.
We hope that this year’s event will raise over £10,000 for two very deserving charities – the Bruno Bursary Fund at Ampleforth and the Francis Maria Libermann School in Zanzibar. We hope you are able to join us for what promises to be a very exciting weekend!
The overall challenge is to collectively row more than 2,500km over the weekend. Participating rowers will be able to contribute to this journey through a variety of events, suited to all ages and standards, as detailed on the next page.
By completing this challenge, we hope to raise in excess of £10,000 to support the Bruno Bursary Fund and the Francis Maria Libermann School. We can only achieve this target with your help. Please consider joining us on this very special journey and supporting us in any way you can. It promises to be a tough, competitive but exciting challenge for people of all ages and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Every single penny we raise will make a difference to the children at the Francis Maria Libermann School and to the future children who will benefit from an Ampleforth education thanks to the Bruno Bursary Fund. What better gift could there be.
