Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I love this seasons Leeds United shirt but I can't fit into it. I realised I needed to lose some weight. So cleverly, or stupidly, I signed up for a White Rose Ultimate Season Ticket which includes the following events:

10 April - Sheffield Half Marathon
8 May - Leeds Half Marathon
19 June - Hull 10km
10 July - Leeds 10km
7 August - York 10km
9 October - Yorkshire Marathon

I decided I wanted to get involved in my local community, and found no better way than to raise money for the Leeds United Foundation.

They support people of all ages in the Yorkshire community. They have many projects that help those with disabilities, mental health needs, the vulnerable and the under-privileged.

I am specifically raising money for the Hesco Ability Counts Programme. This is a platform to help ex-military servicemen/women, injured or not, to get back into work placements through professional sport; to give self direction and purpose; to re-engage and make that transition back into civilian life.

For more information, I urge you to visit their website...

The hardest thing for me will be to sustain training for several months, and to stick to a healthy eating plan at the same time. I have my own personal goals, but to get involved with such a worthwhile charity is the icing on the cake... which I won't be eating until October!

Please encourage, donate and support myself, and the Foundation's Hesco Ability Counts Programme.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
