Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Jon's JustGiving page.
Jon died on 9th December 2013 aged 31.
Jon was diagnosed with bowel cancer on 26th June 2013. Despite receiving treatment and battling for all he was worth he was informed his illness was terminal on 1st October 2013. Jon was transfered to St Helena Hospice on Wednesday 23rd October 2013 where having got his pain under control it was so good for us to be able to spend the last six and a half weeks of his life having quality time as a family and for Jon to be able to have family and friends to visit.
It isn't until you need to use a service that you realise just how vital it is to the community. The Hospice depend heavily on donations to run their services and to help them we are aiming to fund raise as much as we can in Jon's name. We hope you will join us in donating to this very good cause in Jon's memory.
Jacky and I started the ball rolling by donating the money we would have spent on Christmas Cards and asked our friends to do the same. When Jon passed away he had asked for donations to St Helena Hospice instead of florlal tributes and lots of his friends, family and acquaintances donated. People are still donating in his memory so we are leaving his page open.
