Thanks for looking at my Justgiving page.
I am really pleased and proud to be part of Team Phoenix, a charity set up by my energetic, enthusiastic, human dynamo of a friend, Sarah. We are supporting women who've had breast cancer to train for and cross the finish line of the Hever Castle sprint triathlon in September. You will know that I am very boring about exercise: the fun-and-feel-goodness that comes from doing it; the innumerable health benefits; the positive impact on mind, body and soul. And, did you know though that exercise actually reduces the risk of recurrence of breast cancer too?We have 14 women signed up to the programme and we will fund their training, personal trainers and all kit they need. The cost of getting one of our firebirds across the line is £800.And now I get to where you can help. I will do the event with our ladies and cross the line with them but we at Team Phoenix need you to sponsor me. I'm aiming big and hope you can help me reach my goal (think of a number, double it etc etc).
UPDATE 22/9/16
12 WEEKS DOWN THE LINE. THE FIREBIRDS ARE AT THE READY. AND WOW, DO THEY IMPRESS?!! IT CANT BE SAID TOO OFTEN: AMAZING WOMEN WITH SUCH DRIVE AND DETERMINATION THAT THEIR OOOOMPH HAS FREQUENTLY SHAMED ME OUT OF MY WARM BED ON TO A NOT TERRIBLY COMFY BIKE OF A MORNING.
SO I AM DEFINITELY FITTER. DEFINITELY HUNGRIER (ALL THE TIME). CAN NOW FREESTYLE (NOT PRETTY, BUT IT WORKS), HAVE mostly OVERCOME FEAR AND DREAD OF OPENWATER SWIMMING (IT'S NOT THAT BAD), AND ROAD CYCLING ( NOW THAT STILL IS a bit SCAREY).
AND IN TWO DAYS, WE'LL BE LINKNG UP AT THE START.
WHATEVER HAPPENS, I HAVE RAISED S LIT IF CASH AND AM SO GRATEFUL TO YOU ALL. I HAVE ALSO MET THE INSPIRATIONAL LADIES OF TEAM PHOENIX. AND GOT FITTER INTO THE BARGAIN.
All additional donations gratefully received x
