Jackie presented as an emergency case for a caesarean section.  She had been in labour for some time and in this time had only managed to give birth to one puppy, which sadly died.  However, she still had more puppies to come but they weren't budging.  Jackie underwent surgery and another 6 puppies were born, though sadly 4 of these did not make it.  

Severely malnourished and quite exhausted, Jackie is now recovering.  Her two remaining puppies are suckling well and she is also tucking into to some well earned nosh!

Her operation has cost several hundred pounds, but sadly, her new owner, (who took her on not knowing that she was pregnant) could not afford to pay for it.  Luckily, the RSPCA have agreed to take over the care of Jackie and cover the costs of her surgery and follow-up treatment.
