Story
The plan is to hitchhike from services at Bluebell Way in Grimsargh, to Budapest, capital of Hungary. Yeah, I know what you are all thinking, "how are these two clowns going to hitchhike to Budapest, when they get lost on their way home from Rios?" Well, it is also a question I have been asking myself, and I am struggling to find a reasonable answer. However, all you have to do is take a look at the cause we are raising money for, and you will find it's completely worth it. The plan is to hitchhike 1,500 miles from Preston to Budapest.
This summer, I spent a couple months working in a Mission that sits on the border between Kenya (Turkana) and Ethiopia. The Mission, “Our Lady Queen of Peace – Todonyang”, lies in the middle of the desert with the nearest town 200km away and roughly a day’s ride (there are no roads). It also lies in the middle of two warring tribes, the Dassanech and the Turkana. The constant struggle with poverty and tribal violence is a shocking and haunting memory that will stay with me forever.
Our aim is to raise enough money for the Mission to build a fishing boat that will allow the local people to fish on Lake Turkana. This will help provide a vital source of food for the tribes.
Thank you in advance from Nas and myself!
