Story
Hello there...
Can I just say a heart felt thank you to all who generously donated to this fund raising effort. As you can see, we have raised a phenomenal amount of money (£3657 & counting) & this is all thanks to you.
This money will make a massive difference to the care of the unwell babies within the LWH (which as we know, provide much needed help to families from all over our region).
The third icon below (Brown Screen) is a short video that I have made. It explains why I am trying to raise money & who it’s for! Please take a moment to DOUBLE CLICK this.
I AM PART OF A THREE STRONG TEAM THAT HAVE RECENTLY COMPLETED;

Further Fundraising …
During Late 2012 / Early 2013, a group of us will be completing the 346Km ‘Coast to Coast’ Trans-Pennine cycle ride. (Map Attached Below).
This venture is still very much in the planning phase & further details will follow shortly!
Why?
In September 2011, my wife Yvonne gave birth to our twin sons Aaron & Zac.
Our entire pregnancy was managed by the expert staff at Liverpool Women’s Hospital (LWH) & trust me, there is no coincidence in this being called a centre of excellence. The staff & facilities there are nothing short of phenomenal.
From an early stage in the pregnancy, the care team identified that Zac had some issues that would require close monitoring. As a consequence, we were very regular visitors to the Fetal Medicine Unit (FMU) who were massively supportive in preparing us for any outcome! The emotional turmoil associated with this situation was unavoidable. However, I dread to think of how this would have affected us without the support & guidance provided by Dr Leanne BRICKER’s care team.
Once born, it was confirmed that Zac had a condition called Edwards Syndrome. As is often the case with such diagnoses, my son passed away after just 36 hours. During this time, Zac was within the Neonatal or Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) & again the manner in which he was cared for truly defies description!
Despite this devastating event, I have to say that the way in which we were treated & cared for by all at LWH was utterly exemplary. I have never before seen such levels of unwavering commitment, professionalism & an honest desire to care.
Now, I am under no illusion that we are all living in tight shoes presently, but anything you could spare to assist in my raising funds would be honestly appreciated. (No matter how small).
