Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.

As you know as very amateur triathletes we both enjoy sport and keeping active however, we also know the commitment, determination and sacrifice required to go beyond this level.

For young aspiring sportsmen and women of today there are many training/competing opportunities, continually advancing equipment and technology to enhance development further. However, all of this comes at a cost not only physically and emotionally but also financially. Some families are not able to afford to support their talented children to attend the away competitions or equipment to continue to progress to the next level.

SportsAid is a charity overseen by governing bodies to ensure their financial support in the means of grants are received by genuine promising individuals, aged between 12 and 22 and up to the age of 45 in disabled athletes. Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge is patron to the charity.

Sir Chris Hoy is one example of many Scottish athletes recognised by the charity, the grant he was awarded enabled him to purchase his first BMX. This is where his cycling career began, as a child he was ranked number 2 in Great Britain before moving to track cycling aged 14.

The charity also wants to recognise and celebrate our young athletes and potential Olympians of the future, this seems like a fitting charity for us to choose especially in an Olympic year!

We hope that you enjoy sharing our special day celebrating with both of us and our families. This will be a meaningful gift in itself however, if you feel you would like to make a small donation we would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Zoe and Brian :>
