Campigner of the Year - People's Choice, 23 February 2017

Story

On 23rd February 2015, SMK will host our 10th Anniversary Campaigner Awards at the House of Lords, recognising campaigners who have made an impact across many fields, including health, social justice, environment and transport.

The People’s Choice will award an outstanding campaigner who has brought about lasting, positive change at a local, national or international level. Following nominations, a shortlist will be published on the SMK website for the public to vote on.

As each award is sponsored we’re hoping that the People’s Choice will be supported by you, our friends. We hope you will feel able to donate, nominate (at http://www.smk.org.uk/smk-awards-2015/) and then vote when the shortlist is published.

Our 10th Anniversary Awards will be held at the Houses of Parliament, symbolically bringing the voice of ordinary people back to the heart of democracy. Always important and especially so on the eve of a general election, please help us ensure that people's voices continue to be heard by supporting our awards now.

Thank you.

About the charity

The Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) is a unique charity that connect, informs and supports campaigners. SMK was established in 2005 to help develop a new generation of campaigners who are tackling the root causes of injustice. Set up memory of Dame Sheila McKechnie, SMK is entirely dedicated to helping campaigners create positive and lasting social change. SMK runs programmes for individuals and groups providing support, advice and a place to share information on key areas of effective campaigning: from strategy, tactics, and targets to evaluating successful campaigns.
