Story
Tameside 4 Good helps young people and good causes in Tameside. The grant scheme issues grants of up to £500 to individuals, aged between 5 - 25, who want to undertake an activity that benefits them and their community, with grants of up to £4,000 available to community groups.
Some projects we’ve funded:
Anya Waugh - £500 - The young para-athlete was born with spina bifida and is paralyzed from the knees down. She was inspired by London 2012 Paralympic Games to start wheelchair racing. The sport has improved her confidence and is great for fitness. She was renting a 30 year old race chair which had become too small. The Tameside 4 Good individual grant funded the perfect wheelchair with room to grow.
Families of Autistic Children Together - £2,400 – To deliver 1 to 1 speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and Makaton sign language training to give as many none verbal children with learning difficulties a voice to communicate their needs within the family and at school.
