The money raised through the Lollipop Fund helps support the Willow Ward (Children's Ward) at Darent Valley Hospital.   

We need to expand the Children’s High Dependency Unit with a range of expensive specialist equipment to care for seriously ill children. In such circumstances where it is decided a baby or child would be best treated at a specialist centre elsewhere, the High Dependency equipment would help the transfer to be done safely and swiftly, saving valuable time when dealing with serious diseases such as Meningitis.

The staff on Willow Ward also request funds to help provide and update the overnight facilities for parents who wish to stay close to their poorly child, and to enable them to purchase small items such as toys and brave boy/girl stickers for the children on the ward, who often have to endure unpleasant procedures.
