Story
80% of people who need Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) services do not have access to them. A prosthetic device (like an artificial limb) replaces part of the body; an orthotic device (like a leg brace) supports part of the body.
Why is this? – there is simply an acute shortage of P&O services and of Prosthetist Orthotists (POs), the professionals who make and fit P&O devices.
Exceed supports people with disabilities by training POs, providing free P&O services for those least able to pay and enabling the people we support to become independent by accessing education, training and employment.
We work in Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia and Sri Lanka in a part of the world where almost 10 million people need P&O services, but don’t have access to them.
Help us to address this huge disability challenge by donating, so that we can train more professionals and support more people with disabilities.
