Story
The problems/issues we faced
We could not accommodate up to 100 children that were on the waiting list for Madrassah classes.
Mussali’s for Jumma were forced to pray on the pavement and street. This resulted in complaints from local residents, council and Police.
We had no Prayer hall, Toilet and Ablution facilities for females in the mosque building.
There was no disabled access into the prayer hall. This meant that some had to, with great difficulty, use stairs and others were forced to pray outside on the forecourt, come rain or shine.
The structure of the Masjid did not allow for coffins to be brought into the main prayer hall. Coffin’s had to be kept by the rear secondary exit door at the bottom of the stairs. People had to queue on the pavement outside the Masjid to see the body of the deceased.
We have to use our Youth and Community Centre for the daily Prayers and hired premises for Jumma and for last years Eid and Ramadhan's(Maghrib, Isha and Tarawee) prayers.
