Story
Jamie is an hypoxic tetraplegic after a motorbike accident in 1999. Part of his phenomenal recovery has been due in part to going to Jubilee Hall Gym on a daily basis for ten years now.
Right now, Jamie can't access our gym, and he needs our help.
The disabled lift at our Jubilee Hall Gym is currently broken and beyond repair. This means that our disabled members like Jamie cannot take advantage of our fantastic gym or access our specialist community services such as exercise on referral and post-cancer rehabilitation programmes.
The replacement of the lift is an unexpected and expensive cost for our charity – an estimated £16,000. We are calling on our community for support.
"Please keep this lift working, it is essential for Jamie’s daily routine and life!!!" -Jamie's Mum
For individuals with limited mobility, being able to regularly access their community gym and be part of a welcoming, supportive environment can have a huge impact on their sense of belonging and well-being.
