Story
We are witnessing the largest movement of people in Europe since World War II. The movement will not lesson soon. People are fleeing hideous war zones, repressive governments and failing economies.
Aweis Ahmed is Somalian refugee, now living in Italy:
"We are in despair and are being pursued. To remain would mean certain death...We seek security, a future. We hope to survive."
Aweis was met by the Mediterranean Hope project, supported by our partner, the Methodist Waldensian Union. They provide a safe house and offer safe resettlement of refugees.
In September 2015 the Methodist Church in Britain committed to alleviate the plight of refugees in Europe. We set up the Methodist Refugee Support Fund to channel donations to our Methodist partners in Europe.
THANK YOU! We have received over £60,000. Please continue to give what you can towards this vital cause.
