Story
Marsha Phoenix Memorial Trust is a small local charity providing hostel accommodation for homeless young women. We house 27 young women aged 16 to 25. The trust was founded by Sybil Phoenix OBE as a result of her fostering work . We have been going for over 30 years.
As well providing a safe supportive environmentwe have always tried to give extra to help the hostel feel more like home and up until recently we had funding to provide a hot meal every day for each resident. We believe this helps us support our young ladies and give the secure base to go out into the world to study and work . This funding has gone from June 2015 plus other cuts to our service. We want to keep going. So we are hoping to raise £14,000 again this year and every year to keep our lovely cook Daisy cooking nourishing meals.
We’d like the relay run on September 18 to play a vital role in raising thesefunds. Do the race or just donate before or after it for as long as it takes us to raise themoney!
