Visit the charity's profileThe Otakar Kraus Music Trust is proud to be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2016. OKMT has grown to help thousands of society's most vulnerable and excluded people, through the transformative power of music therapy. Music transcends verbal and physical barriers, creates a connection and unleashes creativity. Our work with people with stroke, dementia, mental health problems, learning or neurological disabilities and profound communication difficulties has enabled them to gain confidence, speak, interact and focus. Our projects with children and young people with additional needs such as Music Club and Music School give them the opportunity to make friends, improve communication and gain confidence to play instruments, perform in public and study for music exams.
We are holding various events throughout the year to celebrate our anniversary. Check our website. We also want to use this opportunity to thank our many supporters and benefactors who have helped us over the years.
