Story

Help us to help them - they deserve it!

Planning for the unexpected is difficult at the best of times, but for the treatment of ex-racehorses it is a nightmare.

Most distressing are those freak paddock accidents, which happen even with the best loved and cared for animals.  These can be fatal and we lose too many of our charges this way.

However prompt treatment can and does save lives!  Hence the importance of this fund, so the right treatment decisions can be made.

This year we have had some particular challenges, which have run up our veterinary bills alarmingly.  Norbert gave us a scare, requiring hospital treatment to sort him out.  Second Paige came to us with an enlarged heart, requiring specialist treatment.  Warrior has suffered setbacks, which have compounded the challenge of treating his feet.  Jazz caught us out with colic and an infection, requiring extended hospitalization.  Then Try had one of those paddock incidents requiring  emergency surgery to his hock.
