Story
Every child deserves the right to be able to play and interact with their friends safely in an outdoor environment. In fact ‘playtime’ is something all children, particularly those attending a school or nursery, take for granted and forms an important part of their school day and broader social development. Children with disabilities often miss out on this important aspect of social development as they cannot access traditional playground equipment such as swings or roundabouts safely. In addition play with non-disabled or more able children, such as school friends or siblings can also be difficult as often adapted equipment is not accessible.
We would like to significantly upgrade our outdated existing play area to provide a fully accessible and safe play environment that all of our pupils, from the most able to the most complex, can enjoy.
We have received funding for a large part of this project and now are asking for your help to raise the rest of the funds needed.
