Story

This initiative is based on the concept of giving something back to society in Lent rather than simply giving something up. This student led initiative is encouraging the wholeWellington community to donate £1 each day for 40 days. This year the amount raised will be used to pay for the supply of food, warm clothes and the materials to build shelters in the refugee camps at Calais and Dunkirk. Student led teams of all ages will research to invent creative ideas to maximize the effect of the collection.

40 Days of Giving provides pupils the opportunity to show solidarity with others in the world and with a cause that is completely unrelated to their lives at Wellington. The donations generated will form a charity scheme which every Wellingtonian, current and future, can proudly be a part of, and recognise what a small commitment can do to make a life changing difference to someone somewhere in the world.
