Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti and Cuba on 4th October, bringing 145mph winds, heavy rain and dangerous storm surges.
Haiti is one of the world's poorest countries, with many residents living in flimsy houses. Over 70,000 people have been affected by catastrophic flooding and many have been left homeless. In Guantanamo, Cuba 90% of the population have lost their homes.
The current death toll is over 1,000 and is rising daily, more than 61,000 people remain displaced and an estimated 1.4 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.
