Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page.
I am raising money to fund a day at the Hospice, this costs £7,500 and I aim to do this through the power of my company Carla Gilder Fitness, Me my team and members will be hosting events, taking part in challenges and working as a team to smash this target for such a fantastic cause.
Why now?
Recently my family lost the wonderful Rose, my Auntie! She was like a Grandma to me and she had a special way to make everyone feel special. At her funeral there were about 150 people and I believe each and everyone felt close to her like I did.
About Rose
Rose lived with Frank in Wilmslow and they were married for 55 years. They shared a wonderful life together, they used to ride motor bikes in there early years, they had 2 daughters my Carole and Jean and 3 grandchildren, they loved dogs and had many Springer spaniels over the years, my uncle spent time at the allotment and my Auntie cooked and baked daily. They loved the simple life, they never had central heating, there yearly holidays were spent camping and they loved to spend time with family and friends sharing there homemade wine and jam made with the fruits from franks allotment.
My Auntie was a fantastic cook, she was famous around Wilmslow for her homemade jam and her laugh! Growing up I visited a lot in school holidays, we used to bake, do flower arranging and walk the dogs I loved it.
This year Auntie Roses life was coming to an end because of Cancer and my Uncle frank was suffering with the awful dementia, they stook together for as long as they could but eventually he had to leave, when this happened Auntie Roses life was over, little did we know how much pain she was in and how much she was suffering as they just kept going together!
Just 1 week after frank left Auntie Rose was given a space at the East Cheshire Hospice she was only there for 1 1/2 days but being there made it easy for family and friends to say goodbye, my sister and I spent the morning with her and she passed away with my mum and her family in the afternoon.
I will never forget everything she taught me and the lessons I learnt from her and frank about how happy a simple life can be!
As for the hospice all I can say is the facilities are fantastic, the staff are amazing and I will never forget my last moments with her enjoying a raspberry ice lolly 'that's smashing' she said and 'its raspberry'!
Raising a day with the hospice means this fantastic facility can continue to offer end of life care and much needed support to patients and there families.
Thankyou for reading and supporting my fundraising.
