On the 4th March 2014 my waters broke and I was taken in to hospital, the hospital I was at was not happy with things as my daughter was showing she was anemic, they were not happy with giving Her a blood transfusion if she was born but luckily Poole neonatal intensive care unit and midwives agreed they would take me! I was 8 weeks early and the next day induced, I gave birth to a precious 3lb 15 baby girl. The care we received and the support was amazing, being supported to be able to express so when my baby was ready I could feed her myself. Not only did they do that but they kept her safe, offering us lots of kangaroo care cuddles. I think all the staff are amazing and will never be able to thank them enough for keeping my baby alive.

They work long and hard hours, helping babies who are small, poorly or early. They support the families too.
